Every Friday the pupils in Thornleigh attend assembly with our Principal, Miss Paula. The aim of assembly is to recognise and award achievements in class and keeping circle time rules.
School Projects
Green schools

Pupils and staff at Thornleigh are working extremely hard to get our first Green Flag. We have a green school committee in the school that meet regularly to assess our progress. We recycle our fruit waste into our school compost bin and also recycle of paper waste. We are collecting old mobile phones for the Jack and Jill Foundation. We are painting our school bin enclosure, with every class in the school assisting in the project.
To assist with our green schools we ask that children's lunches contain as little waste as possible. We discourage the use of tin foil, and cartons. We recommend that children bring in lunch boxes and reusable drink containers.

School Garden

We are also working with the Heritage in Schools Scheme to begin our School Garden. Expert gardner and lecturer in Marino College called to the school. He did workshops with every class and is assisting in the planning and designing of our school garden.
We welcome the donation of gardening tools, plants, bulbs etc, anything that can assist us in the successful development of our School Garden.
Parents and community are encouraged to assist us with the garden so we can make it a community effort.
